Many of our customers who come to spend the night New Year's Eve in Barcelona ask us where to go or what to do in the city to enjoy such an important date this year. Well, here are some suggestions:
Barcelona's (and the rest of Spain) tradition is to eat 12 grapes with the rhythm of the 12 chimes of midnight. Wherever you are that night, do not forget to buy the 12 grapes. Legend says that eating 12 grapes brings you good luck for the new year.
PLANS FOR NEW YEAR:
– The official holiday in Barcelona is done in España Square and Maria Cristina Avenue. It starts at 11pm but we recommend you getting there with the least 1 hour in advance. The metro stop is ESPAÑA in the green line (Line 3). Here you can see how was the show last year.
– If you want a quiet dinner at a nice restaurant, these are some of the best according to our taste: L'eggs, 7 portes, Tragaluz, Saboc, Negro-Rojo, Cent-Onze, Ornina, Acontraluz, Loidi, Bimba's… We also recommend that you call for a reservation as soon as possible. Most of the restaurants in Barcelona start having few tables available for the last dinner of the year.
– And if you're looking for a good party after the grapes, in Barcelona we have many discos and nightclubs that night open until dawn. For example we recommend you: Razzmatazz, Sala Bikini, Apolo, Opium, Luz de Gas, Sala B, Pacha and the Poble Espanyol.
You see, you have thousands of customizable options to suit all tastes and budgets. Enjoy New Year's Eve in Barcelona!
