My name is Matias Dix, I was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and since I was 15 years old I live in Mataró, a beautiful city on the Catalan coast, very close and north of Barcelona.
I am substitution receptionist, doing the morning, afternoon or evening shift of the Hostel, according to the schedule needs and substituting my colleagues. Our mission as receptionists is to make our guests feel as if they were at home, giving them a warming welcome and helping them in everything they need.
What I like most about the Hotel is its family atmosphere and its philosophy: being small and offering the best service keeping in mind that “a small action is more important than a great decision”. That familiar and close treatment is what our guests feel here and what sets us apart from a great hotel. At least, I love receiving that deal when I travel!
If there is anything I could improve about the Hostal it would be the entrance. I think it does not correspond to the style and design of the interior of the building. I know it is difficult because of the age of the building but I am sure that at some point it can be done and it will attract more guests!
In Barcelona I love its history, its culture, its emblematic buildings such as the Sagrada Familia or the Sant Pau Hospital, its leisure offer, and above all its geography and its gastronomy. The areas that I love are the Poblenou neighborhood (and its promenade to the beach), the Born neighborhood (its history, the market, the promenade and the bars), and the Gracia neighborhood (its nightlife!). I love to eat tapas at the “Universal” stop inside the Boqueria Market!
As a nature lover I highly recommend making a short break from the city to spectacular places such as the mountains of Montserrat or Montseny, or visiting a beach on the Costa Brava, such as Tossa de Mar, Begur or Cadaqués, charming villages that still They retain their magic.
I will there for you!
